Directions and cautions on taking a bath
- In general, two or three weeks of treatment are appropriate for spa therapy. Start by taking a bath once a day, increasing the frequency of bathing gradually up to two or three times a day.
- If you experience a bath reaction after taking a bath three times or so or about one week after starting the treatment, reduce the frequency of bathing or suspend bathing until the symptoms of the bath reaction disappear.
Other cautions
- Proper bathing hours depend on the temperature of the hot water. Take a bath for three to ten minutes in the beginning, increasing the time as you accustom to bathing.
- If you have hardened arteries, elevated blood pressure or any cardiac disease of an advanced stage, you may not take a high temperature bath (42 degrees centigrade or higher).
- You may feel dizzy if you take a hot bath all of a sudden; so, bathe yourself after taking a shower of hot water.
- Desirably, avoid bathing immediately before or after taking a meal. Be careful in particular when you take a bath after drinking alcoholic beverages.
- Keep quiet while bathing in general. Take care to avoid feeling cold after bathing, keeping quiet for some time.
